'SSA Feeds-Beta version' web-based software and associated database is an upgraded version of the previous "SSAFeeds" database available at http://www.vslp.org/ssafeed . This new version of the web-based database provides information on the nutritive value of feedstuffs used in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). It also contains a separate database specifically for Ethiopian feeds. The information has been compiled from ILRI lab analysis and the literature. It is intended for extension, development and research agents to design scientifically-based feeding systems for meat, dairy and draught animals. The software is now at a testing stage and is open for public comment and review until September 30, 2008.
